Anushka Tyagi
Hi I’m Anushka - I grew up playing competitive tennis, but after I graduated college and covid hit, my lifestyle completely changed and I saw my mental and physical health start declining rapidly. I was 20 lbs heavier, feeling uncomfortable in my body and resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms, I decided it was time to get out of this cycle and give running a shot. After just a couple of months the pounds fell off and even better - I fell in love with long distance running. The mental clarity, community, and strength it gave me was unlike anything else, and it even inspired me to start training for races.
Unfortunately, the impact on my body was still intense - having gone through several injuries during my tennis years and now also through running, I started incorporating mat pilates to help with my recovery. I joined studios that opened my world up to the benefits of low impact strength, and realized mat pilates strengthens so many tiny muscles that would get neglected while I playing sports.
As my passion for pilates grew, I felt encouraged by my community to take my interest into teaching. I’ve always loved being around people and the energy that comes from live pilates classes made me feel amazing. After getting certified, I’ve been teaching for 1.5 years now and am constantly inspired by the students that come to push themselves in my class. I love to incorporate a mix of up-beat house songs in my classes, so if you’re looking for a high energy playlist and a great burn, this is your place to be!
