Leah Ficarola

Leah is a firm believer that no matter your starting point, whether you’re someone with no experience of physical activity, an athlete, a mom or just trying to recover from injury or chronic pain, Pilates offers a transformative path to physical health and strength. Working with both young and old Leah has helped many people realize their physical potential and get back on the path to active and vigorous living.

Leah has spent her life immersed in dance and movement. Approached at age sixteen to study full time at the San Francisco Ballet School she spent two years under some of the best teachers. She then moved to Seattle for professional division with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. From there she went on to work in New York City with renowned choreographer Eliot Feld who invited her to dance in his contemporary ballet company Ballet Tech. Moving to Los Angeles after her years in ballet she pursued a career in commercial dance and live performance, appearing in numerous films and television shows (such as ‘Physical’, ‘Sorry for your Loss’ and ‘American Horror Story’), performing with the LA Opera and carving out a niche as a well known burlesque dancer.

Having first been on a reformer when dancing at the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Leah turned to Pilates after starting to feel the wear and tear of a lifetime of physical activity. Since receiving her CPT (500hrs) at Club Pilates in West Hollywood Leah has spent the last several years teaching group reformer classes and one on one sessions in studios all over LA.
